XV International Basic Sciences Knowledge Contest in Primary School: Information

The English Language Olympiad objectives:

to develop students’ creativity, erudition, and the so-called ‘feel for language’;
to develop the ability of independent analysis of a linguistic material and of application of linguistic knowledge, skills and competencies in non-standard environment;
totrain students’practical perception of the language,to formbroad and up-to-date views on learning the foreign language.

The Informatics Olympiad objectives are:

to acquire skills of processing different types of data via the computer and other facilities of information and communication technologies, to organize one’s own information activity and predict its results;
to develop responsible attitude to information regarding legal and ethic sides of data distribution, and to promote selective attitude to the received data;
to develop the fundamental knowledge of information, informational processes, systems, techniques, and simulators;
to reveal the students’ level of creativity and initiative in the application of information and communication technologies;
to build an ability and readiness to apply information technologies in practical use in the modern world.

The Mathematics Olympiad objectives:

to promote abilities for creativity in Mathematics;
to develop students’ spatial perception and intuition, their mathematical culture ;
to support treatment of mathematics as a part of universal culture;
to contribute to students’ intellectual development;
to promote the traits of character vital for life in today’s society, such as: vividness and accuracy of mind, critical thinking, intuition, logical thinking, elements of algorithmic culture, spatial perception, and an ability to overcome difficulties.

The Russian Language Olympiad objectives:

to develop students’ creativity, erudition, and the so-called ‘feel for language’;
to develop the ability of independent analysis of a linguistic material and of application of linguistic knowledge, skills and competencies in non-standard environment;
totrain students’practical perception of the language,to formbroad and up-to-date views on learning the Russian language.
